Low Child-to-Teacher Ratio
We believe that quality child care programs are built around the relationship between your child and the adults who care for him or her.
In addition to our teachers, with our large number of volunteers we have an adult nearby in case your child needs help with a project, guidance in working out a conflict, or maybe just needs a hug.
Safe, Secure Environment
Wirtzie’s Preschool & Child Care was designed to provide a safe, secure environment for your child.
The center may only be accessed with a coded security pass, and all traffic is monitored through our manned central lobby.
Policies and procedures are in place covering everything from drop-off/pick-up to food safety to sanitation. In addition, all staff members are First Aid/CPR certified and both staff and volunteers have fingerprint and background clearances.

Wobblers Program
12 to 24 Months
Children in this age group must be walking.
Your child’s first steps are more than just physical movement. They are an expression of their growing independence. The Wobbler child care program at Wirtzie’s encourages and supports your child’s natural desire for independence and provides positive, patient guidance along the way.
At the Wobbler stage, children are working on developing gross motor skills like moving from crawling to walking unaided, the language skills of stringing together their first phrases and sentences, and social skills.
Because young children are naturally curious, our day care provides a variety of opportunities to explore their world and facilitate that learning. Our child-centered curriculum helps us identify how best to help your child develop the social, emotional and physical skills he or she needs for the next stage of development.

Toddlers Program
24 to 36 Months
As children gain more confidence in their abilities, they progress into the toddler phase. The Wirtzie’s Toddler child care program grows right along with your child and builds on the foundation laid during the Wobbler program.
As Toddlers, children begin fine-tuning their motor skills and engage in activities and games for the sheer joy of using those skills and finding a channel for their burgeoning energy. Language skills are progressing through practice, and abstract concepts begin to make sense to eager young minds.
The Wirtzie’s Toddler child care program will grow right along with your child and continue to teach skills for living and learning. Our trained staff will design varied hands-on activities that encourage learning through play and teach your child to work with other children to learn cooperation.
Preschool & Pre-K Program
3 to 5 Years
In the preschool years, your child continues the transition to independence. These years mark an explosion of curiosity as your child revels in new-found motor and language skills and begins to turn their attention to understanding how the world works. The primary focus of these years is to continue natural learning while also setting the stage for kindergarten and a successful lifelong habit of learning.
The Wirtzie’s preschool program is a half-day curriculum beginning at 8:00a.m. and ending at 12:30p.m. Monday–Friday. This is intended to gently introduce your child to the scheduling and structure of the formal school day. The program offers an age-appropriate introduction to language, math and science.
Children may be dropped off as early as 6:30a.m. Childcare can continue after the preschool program ends, with pick-up time by 6:00p.m.
