Wirtzie’s Preschool and Child Care provides an environment that enhances and enables learning and community while providing quality child care for children ages six weeks to five years old.
From our unique architectural design to drafting the staffing plan, every decision is made with the goal of celebrating individuality and providing a safe, nurturing place to learn and develop.
Educated, Experienced & Trained Staff
The lead teachers at Wirtzie’s Preschool & Childcare have years of experience working with young children. Each staff member receives ongoing training in both child care and child development while on-site and works under the guidance of our Child Development Center Director, Diane York.
Low Child-to-Teacher Ratio
We believe that quality child care programs are built around the relationship between your child and the adults who care for him or her.
In addition to our teachers, with our large number of volunteers we have an adult nearby in case your child needs help with a project, guidance in working out a conflict, or maybe just needs a hug.
Safe, Secure Environment
Wirtzie’s Preschool & Child Care was designed to provide a safe, secure environment for your child.
The center may only be accessed with a coded security pass, and all traffic is monitored through our staffed central lobby.
Policies and procedures are in place covering everything from drop-off/pick-up to food safety to sanitation. In addition, all staff members are First Aid/CPR certified and both staff and volunteers have fingerprint and background clearances.
Open, Bright Classrooms
Our wide-open classrooms feature plenty of play space, nooks for reading and tools for imagining.
Expansive windows provide ample natural light while also providing views onto the desert, Alice’s Wonderland playground and the shared Intergenerational Garden.
Hot, Nutritious Meals
Good, healthful meals are the fuel on which young minds and bodies run, so Wirtzie’s has a registered dietitian on staff who works in conjunction with our professional chef to ensure your child is served hot, nutritious meals and snacks daily while in a Wirtzie’s child care or preschool program. Wirtzie’s is open five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on the following days during the year:

Note: If one of the days falls on a weekend, we will be closed on either Friday or Monday. Closures will be posted on the door as a reminder.
